Our Programme

We offer a developmentally appropraite Preschool programme based on the early childhood curriculum Te Whariki.

Kaiako work with whānau and the wider community to support children's learning pathways.  Individual children's learning outcomes are set together with whānau to extend and scaffold children's learning.    Our group learning is centred arouond place based learning, an approach that connects children's learning experiences to local community and the environment.

We give children the opportunity to experience a number of activities including messy play, water play, sand play, books, carpentry, manipulative play, painting and collage, music, blocks and cooking as well as a phyiscially challenging outdoor environment.

We offer 'Mini groups for the children in the morning with age related activities including preparation for school for the older children.   We also have group times before lunch and afternoon tea with stories, music and movement.

We encourage family and whānau to contribute to our programme wherever possible especially with our monthly focuses, special days and events.

Our Staff

At Little Peppertree, respectful relationships are the heart of our community.  We have a small teaching team of caring, passionate and dedicated teachers bringing experience, infectious enthusiasm, and creativity every day.  Our Supervisor, Emma Richards is assisted by Amanthea, Kaitlin and Krissy.

Our relievers are very much a part of our teaching team and play a vital role in ensuring the continuity of our programme even when teachers are away. With a consistent team of relievers, we ensure the quality learning experiences we provide at Little Peppertree continue in the same way.

Judith Carstens

"All the teachers at Little Peppertree are truly amazing, they are fun, kind, compassionate, and
dedicated to helping Ayla achieve her learning goals.
Ayla has learned so much in preparation for school. She has gained confidence while attempting tasks she finds difficult. She now knows it's not about doing something perfect, or better than others but to simply try her best.
Thank you to everyone at Little Peppertree, Ayla has thoroughly enjoyed her time with you all."
